Mark Rodriguez '83 was an outstanding middle linebacker for the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jacket football team. A four-year letterman, Rodriguez was a member of two Ohio Athletic Conference championship teams and three teams that advanced to the NCAA Division III National Tournament under Head Coaches Lee Tressel and Bob Packard. He was an All-OAC selection in 1981 and 1982 and the team's leading tackler in both seasons.
 
As a senior in 1982, he was sole captain of the Yellow Jackets who finished the regular season at 10-0 and ranked #1 in the nation. Rodriguez received the Greater Cleveland Touchdown Club College Player of the Year Award and earned the OAC Hank Critchfield Award, symbolic of the conference's Defensive Player of the Year. He was also awarded the BW Lee Tressel Academic Scholarship in 1983.
 
Following graduation from BW, Rodriguez earned a master's degree in sport administration from Ohio University in 1984. He worked in the athletic department at Cuyahoga Community College East and then as Fitness Director for Tempcraft Company until 1989, when he moved to Cuyahoga Community College's Western Campus as Athletic Director. He is currently employed at Tri-C West as the Director of Student Life, Athletics and Recreation.
 
In 1996, Rodriguez joined his father, Jim '53, and uncle, Angelo '62, in the BW Alumni Association Athletic Hall of Fame.
 
Rodriguez and his wife, Jackie '85, reside in North Olmsted and have four children.
