Originally from Berea, Mohr enrolled at Baldwin-Wallace College and was named All Big Four End for B-W football.  World War II interrupted Don’s education when he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1943 and was assigned to the V-12 officers training program at Bowling Green State University and was commissioned as a second lieutenant.  Here he was named All Ohio End in both 1943 and 1944, and captain in 1944.  Following the war, Don returned to B-W to become captain of the football team and complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Physical Education in 1947.  After graduation, he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns.

In 1949 Don began his teaching career, teaching at East Liverpool High School, Maple Heights High School, and ending at Euclid Senior High School, where he taught for 24 years.  He had coached numerous basketball and football teams and was the athletic director at Euclid.  He was inducted into the Berea and Euclid high schools’ Hall of Fame. Don passed away in 2000.
