Theodore "Ted" C. Gurney '26 graduated from BW in 1926 and was inducted into the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1977.

Ted played a good consistent game, alternating at center and guard. It must be extremely hard for a man to plow through a season of defeats and still come up smiling. This is exactly what Captain Gurney did. He was not fortunate enough to captain a winning combination but it cannot be said that he lost interest to the point where sportsmanship became an unknown factor. Ted leaves us this year and it was with regret that we saw him make his final bow to Baldwin-Wallace athletics.

Ted is the big man of the line and was one of the big obstacles to B-W opponents. Few gains were made through Ted's position. Coach will have a hard time to find a man who had Ted's ability and grit to fill the vacancy left by his graduation.
