George Morris Sr. '41 graduated from Baldwin-Wallace in 1941, and was inducted in to the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1976.

Morris was one of the most exciting running backs to ever wear a Yellow Jacket football jersey, and was the first player to ever be drafted in to the professional ranks, signing with the Cleveland Rams in 1941.

Morris led all scorers in Ohio collegiate football in 1939, running for 100 points and leading the Yellow Jackets to a second place finish to Ohio State in the listing of Ohio college teams. The elusive running back also charged the offense to a season's total of 217 points, the second highest mark in Ohio.

Morris was also one of the first B-W sprinters ever to run the 100 yard dash in 10 seconds, and was also a member of the basketball team during his sophomore year. He was also active in the academic arena, serving on the College's co-operative council and during his junior and senior years, he was the vice-president of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

A native of East Palestine, Morris is a merchant with Morris Golden Daen Foods and Legion. He serves on the Youngstown Area Grocer's Association Supermarket Institute and is a member of the National Association Supermarket Institute and is a member of the National Association of Retail Grocers (N.A.R.G.U.S.).

Morris and his wife Esther make their home in Colombiana and have three children: George, Jr.'64; Bonnie Lynn '71 and Thomas.
