Almeida Brownlee Evans '45 graduated BW in the class of 1945 and was inducted in the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1997.

Almeida Brownlee Evans was active in intramurals at Baldwin-Wallace College where she participated in basketball and the swim team.  An active member of the campus community, she was a member of Beta Sigma Omicron (now Alpha Phi), Future Teachers of America and the Women's Recreation Association.  She also worked on the Varsity Show and the Exponent.

After graduating, she continued her interest in activity and wellness as a 20-year volunteer teacher at the YMCA in Lake County, Ohio.  Evans taught swimming classes as well as "Slim "n" Trim," and "Good Grooming and Health."

An active volunteer in Painesville, she led numerous organizations including the PTA, YMCA Board of Directors, United Fund and the Western Reserve Junior Service League.  She has been honored for her efforts with numerous awards including the Layman of the Year for the YMCA, Outstanding Citizen Award, Good Neighbor Award for Lake County and the B-W Alumni Merit Award.
