Dr. Robert Lechner '30 graduated from Baldwin Wallace in 1930 and was inducted in to the Baldwin Wallace Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1974.

Dr. Lechner graduated from Berea High School in 1926 where he set a ten second record for the 100 yard ash that was not broken until 1970. He graduated from B-W in 1930 where he was a member of the Letterman's Association and where he participated in track.

After graduating from Western Reserve Medical School, he interned at Cleveland Metropolitan General and did a residency at Women's General. He was a surgeon as well. He was team physician for B-W for 37 years and served for most of the areas high schools as well. He served on the Berea Board of Education and was its' president for five years.

After retiring from medicine, Dr. Lechner worked for th Ohio Bureau of Employment Services for one yer. He also served as a captain with the Army Medical Corps in World War II. He was a member of local state and national medical associations, as well as Alpha Kappa Kappa medical fraternity.

He was also a member of Berea Masonic Lodge, Al Koran Shrine, Berea Shrine Club, and was a 32 degree Mason.
