James Westbrook '69 graduated from Baldwin-Wallace in 1969 and was inducted in to the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1995.

Westbrook was an outstanding football player and wrestler for the Baldwin-Wallace Yellow Jackets. His leadership abilities helped the Jackets to an Ohio Athletic Conference football championship in 1969. He is one of the few B-W athletes to ever captain both varsity squads. Westbrook, like many other outstanding B-W athletes, has continued on to educate future generations of leaders through teaching and coaching.

Westbrook who is a native of Elyria, was a four-year letterman in both football and wrestling while at B-W. In football, following his freshman season, he was th recipient of the Outstanding Freshman Award. He was selected as the Outstanding Defensive Player his junior year and Most Valuable Defensive Lineman in his senior season. In wrestling, he finished fourth in the OAC at 167 pounds his freshman year, second his sophomore year at 167 pounds and fourth his senior year at 177 pounds. Westbrook was also a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Westbrook has been teaching in the Elyria City Schools for over 25 years. He is also very active in the First United Methodist Church in Elyria.

Westbrook resides with his wife Ruth, and their two daughters.
