Tonia Kwiatkowski '94 was a World-class figure skater and figureskating coach while as a student and then graduate of Baldwin Wallace University. She was inducted into the BW Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2004.

Tonia was born on February 12, 1971 in Cleveland, Ohio[1] and graduated from Lakewood High School in 1990. She earned a degree in communications and psychology from then Baldwin-Wallace College in 1994, and was frequently lauded by television commentators (during figure skating competitions world-wide) for pursuing her post-secondary education while competing at the highest levels of the sport. Tonia was a rare breed in the sport of figure skating, because it typically demands four-to-six hours of daily practice to remain competitive at the elite level.

Tonia competed on the U.S. Figure Skating Team from 1986 through 1994 and was a two-time Winter Universiade champion, a winner of two silver medals on the Champions Series, and the 1996 U.S. National silver medalist. She finished in the Top-10 at two World Championships and competed in thirtenn U.S. Championships. The legendary Carol Heiss Jenkins and Glyn Watts were her longtime coaches. Tonia was an alternate on the 1998 U.S. Olympic Figure Skating Team. She retired from amateur skating later in 1998 and continues to be involved in the sport as a skater and coach.

In 1999, Tonia was inducted into the Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame. Tonia is married and residesc in Cleveland.
