William Lacey '62 graduated from Baldwin-Wallace in 1962 and became a member of the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1993.

Lacey has distinguished himself as a leader his entire life. Following an outstanding career as a quarterback of an unbeaten football squad in 1961, Lacey began a career in business that has led him to become one of the most respected CEO's in the nation. He also continues to serve the College as a member of its Board of Trustees.

At B-W, Lacey was outstanding on the field and in the classroom. On the athletic fields, Lacey was a football letterman, a co-captain in 1961 and the quarterback of a Yellow Jacket unbeaten squad. For his efforts, Lacey earned the Lee Tressel Award that year. He also played basketball for a year.

In the classroom, Lacey was regularly on the Dean's List and was a member of a business honorary, the B-W Men's Leadership Honorary and the Omicron Delta Kappa Honorary. On campus, Lacey was on the Student Concil and a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

Following graduation, Lacey earned his master's degree in buisness from the University of Pennsylvania in 1964 and began a career with the Columbia Broadcasting Company (CBS) as a financial analyst. In 1966, Lacey was named as a Brand Manager for Nabisco and then moved to Ralston Purina Corporation in 1967. In 1973, Lacey was named as a vice president for marketing and then as the CEO for the Grocery Products Group at Ralston Purina. Lacey retired in 1992.

Lacey and his wife Diane resides in the St. Louis, MO area and have five children.
