Len was a 1957 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College and basketball great.

Roth, a 1952 graduate of Cleveland Hts. High School, was an All-Lake Erie League selection as a basketball player and one of the very first players from the Lake Erie League to be named to the All-State (Ohio) team.

Roth, a four-year letterman in basketball at B-W, played from 1953 to 1957 for the Yellow Jackets. Roth played his basketball under B-W legend Ray Watts. From 1953-1957 the B-W basketball program was 47-33, which included a third-place finish at the 1955-56 NAIA Tournament. In 1954, the Yellow Jackets were fifth in the nation in points scored.

Roth is 11th on B-W's all-time scoring list with 1,263 points. His best season was in 1956 when he scored 445 points. At one time, Roth held many of the Yellow Jacket records including: most points scored in a game (36 against Ohio Wesleyan), most field goals in a game (16 against Case Tech) and seasonal field goal percentage (46.9).

After graduation, Roth went on to play on the local All-Star College basketball team for several seasons. These All-Star teams were really semi-pro teams that at this time were more popular than the professional teams. Roth then worked in his family's steel business. In 1988, Roth retired as the Chief Executive Officer of Roth Steel.

Roth and his wife, Pamela, had four children: Irene, Amy, Michael and Karen.
