Mona Wade Carlo '44 graduated from Baldwin-Wallace in 1944, and was inducted in to the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1995.

Mona Carlo set standards for others to follow after her graduation from Baldwin-Wallace. Carlo was the first physical education major at B-W in 1944. She then embarked on a successful teaching career that spanned 33 years. Carlo's publications and workshops have influenced many educatorsand students around the country for years.

While at B-W, Carlo played field hockey and tennis and also played basketball for the cadettes of the Baldwin-Wallace Military Academy. She was the Women's Recreation Association president and the city's tennis champion while at B-W. Carlo was also a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and a member of the Berea Women's Club.

Carlo taught at Baldwin-Wallace College, Bucyrus Public Schools, Ford Junior High and Middleburg Junior High School. She was a graduate assistant at Kent State University where she received her Master of Education degree in 1974.

Carlo has planned and conducted 14 different workshops and is a member of seven professional organizations. She has co-authored two textbooks in education that have been used in over 90 colleges and universities across America.

Carlo lived in Berea with her husband Joe, and B-W graduate and a long time football coach and assistant athletic director for the Yellow Jackets. Mona and Joe are the first husband and wife duo to be elected to the Hall.
