Ann C. Benson '60 graduated from BW in 1960 and was inducted into the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1994. 

Ann Benson was involved in both sports and campus activities while at Baldwin-Wallace College. A native of Lorain, Ohio, Benson was one of the many student-athletes who helped B-W to move into the era of intercollegiate athletics.

Benson participated on the basketball, volleyball, and tennis teams at B-W for four years and earned a bachelor of science degree in education.

In addition to playing intercollegiately, Benson was C-D (Columbia-Dartmouth Game) All-Star for four years, the WRA foul shooting champion for two years and runnerup at the tennis state championships in 1957. In 1960, Benson scored a game-high 28 points in the B-W version of the C-D Classic. During her summer vacations, Benson taught tennis in the city of Lorain.

Extremely involved on campus, Benson was a member of the Phi Mu sorority and PEMMS, a student organization of physical education majors which promoted a high standard of teaching and leadership in an effort to broaden interest in health, physical education and recreation. Benson also was a member of the Women's Recreation Association, Kappa Phi education honorary and the Ohio Student Teachers Association as well as being a resident assistant and a participant in the White Rose Ceremony.

After graduating from B-W in 1960, Benson was employed as a teacher by the Lorain Board of Education for one year. In 1961, Benson joined the Berea Board of Education as a teacher until 1990.

As a teacher, Benson was the Martha Jenning Scholar during the 1966-67 school year. Benson also was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma women's educational honorary and was listed in the Who's Who Among American High School Teachers.
