Kevin Phipps was a seven-time letterwinner earning four letters as a thrower in track and field and three as defensive lineman in football. On the football field, Phipps appeared in 27 games and recorded 100 tackles, including 11 for a loss, five quarterbacks sacks, three quarterback hurries, one pass breakup, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He also was an All-Ohio Athletic Conference honorable mention selection a team captain and the Eloise Tressel Jacket Award winner in football. Phipps was a six-time NCAA Division III All-American, seven-time Ohio Athletic Conference Champion and a 12-time All-OAC indoor and outdoor track thrower.  He was named the 2011 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Association Great Lakes Region Field Athlete of the Year in both indoors and outdoors. Today, he is an Associate Head Track and Field Coach in charge of throws at NCAA Division I Cornell (N.Y.) University.
