Hribar was an outstanding football player at both offensive tackle and linebacker for the Yellow Jackets and went on to have a fine 30-year career as a teacher and coach at the high school level.

Hribar, a native of Cleveland, played four years of football and earned three varsity letters as he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education. Following his junior season in 1950, Hribar was selected to both the All-Big Four (B-W, John Carroll, Case and Western Reserve) and All-Ohio teams for his outstanding play at linebacker. The following season, Hribar was again named to the All-Big Four and All-Ohio, but as an offensive tackle instead of linebacker.

Hribar carried his winning attitude from B-W's playing field to the classroom and football field at both the Madison and Brecksville school systems. Hribar spent 10 seasons as head football coach at Madison and 10 seasons as assistant football coach at Brecksville. In addition to his success on the field, Hribar has published a number of journals and articles dealing with teaching and coaching football.

He retired from active coaching in 1986 and resides in Fairport, Ohio, with his wife, Mary. They have three children.
