When Terry Allerton '68 graduated from BW in 1968, he was the College's second all-time basketball scorer with 1,499 points. He was a two-year Plain Dealer College All-Star Team pick and a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference guard. In 1967, he was named to the NCAA Mid-East Regional Small College All-Star team and, in his senior year, he was named Most Valuable Player. After college, he continued to play. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 1968. Later, while in Goodyear's management training program, he played for the company's AAU Industrial League team and also played with Fort Sam Houston's Basketball travel squad.

He became the owner of a construction company in New York and in 1987 joined Holt Constructon in New Jersey (owned by his Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity brother, Jack Holt) as a senior project manager.  He rose to vice president and in 1995, president of the company.
