Robert Quackenbush, Jr. '69 graduated from BW in 1969 and was inducted into the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1981.

In 1968 Baldwin-Wallace won its first Ohio Conference Football Championship in 30 years with a 4-0 conference record, 8-1 overall. A championship team needs a championship defense, a championship defense needs a championship quality lineman, and the Yellow Jackets had Bob Quackenbush.

The three-year letterman, also a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, was named to the AFCA-KODAK Coaches 1968 Little All-American First Team. The Ohio Conference coaches honored him with the Mike Gregory Memorial Award as the outstanding lineman in the Conference and, topping off his awards case for that year, Bob was named the Ray E. Watts Trophy recipient as the most outstanding defensive player on the '68 squad.

In 1973, Bob returned to B-W to coach Yellow Jacket defensive line for three years before taking on the position as head football coach at West Geauga High School. His talents are still being recognized as he coached his 1980 squad to an unblemished 10-0 record, earning titles as 1980 Northeastern Ohio Co-Coach of the Year and Chagrin Valley Conference Coach of the Year. He was also an assistant coach for the 1981 North-South All-Star Game.

Bob and his wife Doris have two children, Brian David, and Carrie Ann.
