Art Van Rensselaer '63 graduated from BW in 1963 and was inducted in to the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1988.

Known for his quiet and humble personality and hard nosed aggressive style of play, Art Van Rensselaer earned seven varsity letters in football and baseball at B-W in the early 60's.

Art began his career with a bang, winning the Yellow Jacket Oustanding Freshman Football Player award in 1959. Two years later, he started and starred on the on the undefeated 1961 Yellow Jacket squad.

On the baseball diamond, Van Rensselaer was a three year letterman and the team's co-captain in 1963. He also captained the football team earlier that same year. 

Off of the field, he was the president of the junior class in 1962. In addition, e was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity on campus and a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa honor fraternity. As a senior, he was listed in the "Who's who in American Universities".

Art received his master's degree from Ball State University in 1964 and went on to begin a successful coaching career.

In 1972, he was named Wyoming Coach of the Year as he led St. Mary's High School to a number one ranking in the state. Currently a principle in the National Country School District in Casper, WY, Art and his wife Judith a 1965 graduate of B-W, reside in Casper.
