Clyde A. Simpson '60 graduated from BW in 1960 and was inducted into the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1982.

In his own modest way, Clyde Simpson say so his B-W wrestling years, "I had an unusual style of wrestling that produced many pins.  That's about as much as I know."

After graduating from Rhodes High School in Cleveland, Clyde joined the Navy, where he served from 1952 to 1956.  In the same year he was discharged, he was accepted at B-W.

During his freshman and sophomore years, Simpson went without a loss on the mat and he finished his college career boasting a 45-3 record.  Wrestling before the NCAA split into three divisions, he often faced opponents from what are now Division I schools, such as Ohio State, Toledo, and Kent State.

In 1959 and 1960, Simpson was recognized as the team's "Outstanding Wrestler."  In 1960, he also received the distinguished Oustanding Senior Athlete award, a particularly notable achievement as no wrestler before had received the award for participating in only that sport.

In addition to being a formidable opponent on the mat, Clyde was a leader serving as class treasurer both his junior and senior years, and he graduated from B-W cum laude.

Clyde received his master's in education from Kent State in 1965.  He was a biology teacher at Rocky River High School.
