William J. Lohr '39 graduated from Baldwin-Wallace in 1939, and was inducted into the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1985.

One of Baldwin-Wallace's most outstanding tracksters, Lohr once held the record for the 220-yard dash at 22 seconds. Bill had a brilliant college track career for which he was awarded three letters. He broke the broad jump record with a leap of 22'5'' and was a member of the record settin mile relay team. Lohr was the high point man on the Yellow Jacket track team for two years as well as being the Big Four champion in the 220. Bill defeated Joe Scott, the U.S. decathalon champion from Western Reserve, in the 100.

After graduation from Baldwin-Wallace Bill pursued a legal career. He was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity, The Columbus Bar Association, the Shrine, the Sons of the American Revolution, the University Club of Columbus, and the Columbus Country Club. In 1939, Lohr brought the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity to the B-W campus.

Bill, a native of Lakewood, lived in Columbus where he practiced law. He and his wife, Patricia, have two daughters and a son.
