William Krause '38 graduated from Baldwin-Wallace in 1938 and was inducted in to the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1973.

During his four years at Baldwin-Wallace, Krause earned a long list of athletic achievements on the gridiron, including All-Big Four, All-Ohio, and All-Ohio Conference first team honors. In 1937, the Yellow Jackets tackle was named to the All-Time B-W Honorary Football Team. Also a track standout, Bill set the discus record in 1936 which stood until 1951. 

After graduating in 1938 with an A.B. degree in history and education, he pursued his athletic career with the Cleveland Rams of the National Football League for two years. Leaving professional football, Bill worked with the Cuyahoga County Juvinile Detention Home.

In1943 Krause began teaching at Newton Falls where he served as a head football coach and basketball coach until he joined the service. Following two years in the merchant marines during World War II, Krause, his wife, the former Prisilla Pneuman '40, and thier family moved to Tiffin, where he taught history and geography at West Junior High School and was assistant track coach a Columbian High School. Krause remained in Tiffin for 24 years as a teacher and assistant track coach. A mean dedicated to his profession, he has been lauded by many of his pupils and associates for his teaching an coaching excellence.

On April 15, 1972, Tiffin Columbian Stadium was the site of the first annual Bill Krause Memorial Track Relays, honoring this knowledgeable, dedicated and well-loved man.
