Norman N. Schoen '37 graduated from BW in 1937 and was inducted into the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1967.

Only one Baldwin-Wallace College athlete has ever led the nation in football scoring; few have won ten letters playing varsity athletics in four sports; not many have had the all-around athletic ability of the Yellow Jackets' famed Norman Schoen.  Part of the renowned B-W "Aerial Circus" of the 1930's, Norm formerly held four gridiron records set in the 1935-'37 seasons as one of the Jackets' greatest halfbacks, passers, and pass receivers.

Schoen was outstanding in football, basketball, baseball and tennis.  He topped national scoring in football in 1936 with 117 points.  Baldwin-Wallace was the top-scoring team in the nation that year with 330 points.  Norm was named All-Ohio football in 1935 and 1936 and was All-Big Four in 1935.

Making athletics a lifetime career, Schoen moved into the coaching world at Brewstewr, Ohio after graduation in 1937.  He was head football and basketball mentor at Olmsted Falls, at Shaker Heights and in 1953 settled at West Geauga High School where he was director of athletics.

He spent 10 years playing Class A baseball in Cleveland, batting a record-setting .488 in the mid-1940's.

Schoen and his wife Geraldine have four children; Genie Marie, Edith Ann, Tom and Norman.  They have raised an athletic family.  Tom was a football star at Notre Dame University and Norman was an outstanding basketball player at St. Joseph High School in Cleveland.
