Willis Holcombe '67 graduated from BW in 1967 and was inducted into Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1981.

Holcombe gained recognition as B-W's outstanding senior athlete for his performance as a football and track star. He earned four varsity letters in track, three in football and was one of the four relay teammates named NCAA Division III All-American during his junior year. The award recognized the B-W relay team's second place finish in the 440-yard relay with a 41.6 time. In 1967, Willy held the Ohio Athletic Conference 100-yard dash record with a 9.6 time. In football, he was a halfback, defensive safety, and flanker catching 26 passes for 751 yards, 28.8 yeards per catch.

Omicron Delta Kappa inducted Willy in recognition of his campus leadership in athletics, as a class officer, a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and his theatrical involvement. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1969-72 rising to the rank of captain. He earned his masters in education (1972) and doctor of philosophy (1974) degrees from the University of Florida. Willy has taken active leadership roles in civic organizations including Boy Scouts of America and Davie-Cooper City Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Holcombe was recently appointed vice president of Brevard Community College in Cocoa, Florida. He was and his wife Jo have three children, Megan, Ben, and Joe.
