Brian Moore '85 was one of the most prolific all-around athletes ever to compete at Baldwin Wallace University. He earned varsity letters in basketball and track, but it was on the football field that he made a name for himself as a deadly Run-N-Shoot quarterback. He was a three-year starter who led the Yellow Jackets to a 25-6 record and three straight Ohio Athletic Conference titles (1982 through 1984). Overall, BW had a 33-8 record with Brian on the varsity. 

Brian’s career statistics are impressive. He completed 454-of-731 passes for 4,629 yards and 28 touchdowns. He also ran for 12 more TDs. When Brian graduated in 1985, he held the BW and Ohio Athletic Conference record for completed pass attempts and the most passing yards. He also held the NCAA Division III record for career passing percentage at 62.1 percent.

As a senior in 1984, Brian completed a school-record 168 passes in 269 attempts for 1,779 yards and 14 touchdowns. His 23 completions that season were a single-game record.

Individually, Brian was named the OAC Player of the Week three times and received B-W’s Ray E. Watts Most Valuable Offensive Player Award in 1983. He also received the Mike Gregory Award, which recognizes the OAC’s Most Valuable Offensive Player.  He was named as a first-team All-OAC selection and as a Division III Pizza Hut All-American. He capped off his career being recognized as B-W’s Kenneth Steingass Award-winner, symbolic of the school’s Outstanding Senior Male Athlete.

For several years after graduation, Brian served as the offensive coordinator for NCAA Division I-AA Youngstown State University while Jim Tressel ’75 served as its head coach. Today, Brian lives in New Jersey and is a Vice President with Merrill Lynch.
