Bill Snyder '83, a native of Mayfield, Ohio and a graduate of Mayfield High School, is best remembered for his hard play, outstanding base running and fielding and as one of the best base hitters in Yellow Jacket baseball history.

The two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection at second base had a .346 career batting average, including an OAC-leading .463 average in 1980. As a sophomore in 1981 and senior in '83, Snyder earned the "Big Stick" award for his hitting. As a base stealer, Snyder still owns both the Yellow Jacket career record with 71 stolen bases (in 75 attempts) and an OAC-record with 43 consecutive stolen bases over the course of two seasons. He also finished sixth in Division III in stolen bases in 1980 and third in 1981. Snyder also held the runs scored record (72) at one time. In the field, Snyder was near flawless and compiled a career .980 fielding average and was outstanding at turning the double play.

Snyder received his degree in business administration and has worked in business his entire career.
