Dean Martin '73 was inducted into the Baldwin Wallace University Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001. He is one of the best all-time men's basketball players in school history and played from 1969 through 1973.

Dean was a four-year letterman and four-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference player. At one time, Dean held four BW school career records. Today (2019), he still holds the career marks for scoring average (21.4 points-per-game), field goals attempted (1,527) and made (886)and points scored and ranks second all-time in points scored (2,062). He is currently He also is one of just three Yellow Jacket greats to score more than 1,000 points and grab more than 1,000 rebounds (1,061 career rebounds/ second all-time).

Following graduation, Dean was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers as the fifth pick in the 10th Round of the 1973 National Basketball Association Draft.
