While Boedicker was a student at B-W, he became known, not only on campus, but throughout the Ohio Athletic Conference as an outstanding linebacker.  He was named OAC Defensive Player of the Week four times, tying him for the most times an individual has won the award.  A co-captain in 1985, he led B-W in tackles for three straight years and tallied a school-record 331 tackles.  He was a two time All-OAC first-team pick, Cleveland Touchdown Club MVP and two-time All-American.  He also received the Lee Tressel Award as the OAC Defensive MVP.

Boedicker is certified to teach elementary education as well in the areas of health and physical education in secondary school.  He holds a master's in education from Ashland University.

Since graduating, Boedicker has been a teacher and has continued his interest in football as a coach.  He has taught at Springfield, Maysville, Chippewa, and North Central local schools where he has coached both football and wrestling.  In 1993, he joined the North Olmsted City Schools where he taught health, physical education, math and science and is the head football coach.

In the spring of 1998, he was introduced into the Wadsworth High School Hall of Fame.

He and his wife Laurie live in Medina with their four daughters.
