Myrta Stover was inducted into the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1994.

Myrta Stover was a teacher, a coach and a pioneer of women's athletics both at Baldwin-Wallace College and in Korea. Miss Stover was B-W's first women's athletic director.

Miss Stover was a member of the B-W faculty from 1943-68 and a member of the emeriti faculty from 1968 until her death in 1989. During her time at B-W and in Korea, Miss Stover was known as an innovator in education and athletics. In addition, Miss Stover helped to improve both the scope of the program and the facilities at B-W.

A native of Wadsworth, Ohio, Miss Stover graduated from Wadsworth High School (1916), Ohio Wesleyan University (B.A. in 1921) and New York University (M.A. in 1932). Miss Stover taught at the high school level (1921-25) at Ewa University in Seoul Korea (1925-30 and 1932-37), Hiram College (1939-40), the College of Wooster (1940-41) and Pfeiffer, North Carolina, Junior College before coming to B-W in 1943.

At B-W, Miss Stover served as an associate professor in the Division of Health and Physical Education and as a coach (1943-62) and the women's athletic director (1962-68). She was a member of the Kappa Phi and Delta Kappa Gamma Educational honoraries. Miss Stover also was an accomplished poet who had poems about nature and religion published and was a member of the Ohio Poetry  Society.

Besides being a pioneer at B-W, Miss Stover earned a worldwide reputation for her work in Korea. Miss Stover introduced and taught ice skating for women as a sport, planned and supervised the building of Korea's first gymnasium for women, complete with field and tennis courts, and organized the physical education program with intramural and interscholastic sports that included tennis, basketball, baseball, ping pong, skating and volleyball.

In addition to joining the B-W Hall of Fame, Miss Stover was also a member of the Wadsworth Area Growth Association Hall of Fame (1979).
