Tim McCaig '90 was an outstanding football player and track thrower at the College from 1986-1990.

On the football field, Tim was an anchor on the offensive line from his tackle position and helped the Yellow Jackets to four winning seasons. He helped the Brown & Gold compile an impressive 27-12-1 overall record, including the 1988 Ohio Athletic Conference title with an 8-2 record.

In track, Tim was an excellent thrower and competed in the shot put, discus, hammer, weight throw and javelin.  He especially excelled in the javelin where he placed second at the 1990 NCAA Division III National Championship Meet with a throw of 221-feet and seven inches to earn Division III  All-America accolades for the fourth straight year. Tim was a two-time OAC champion (1989 and 1990) and a four-time Division III national qualifier in the javelin. In four appearances at the national meet, he placed eighth in 1987, fifth in 1988, third in 1989 and second as a senior in 1990. As a freshman and sophomore, Tim battled for OAC and Div. III supremacy with teammate and fellow Hall of Famer Tom Scholato '88, but as a senior, he finally broke loose and broke Scholato's school-record.  Twice, Tim was named as the Yellow Jacket Outstanding Thrower.

In the classroom, Tim majored in speech communication and aspired to be involved in environmental science and fundraising.
