Her love for competition and sportsmanship made her one of the pioneers of women's athletics at B-W. Her interests in sports would not come to an end at the completion of her college career, as she continued to be involved in athletics at the high school level throughout her life.

As a member of the basketball, volleyball, swimming, and softball teams, Vogley was able to help her teams capture championship titles in each one of the sports. She was also crowned the foul shooting champion in 1958. For her outstanding play in basketball, she was selected to be a Columbia-Dartmouth game participant in 1957.

A native of North Olmstead, Ms. Vogley was also active in many on-campus organizations. She was a four year member of the Women's Recreation Association, the Aqualene Club, Beta Sigma Oicron sorority, and Pemms

After receiving her bachelor's degree in education in 1960, Vogley would go on to earn her master's degree in guidance counseling from Kent State University in 1965. She began teaching physical education at the middle school level until 1965 when she became the chairman of the middle school guidance department at Roehm Junior High School in Berea. In 1983, she joined the counseling staff at Berea High School, where she also coached volleyball, softball, and golf.
