Louis E. Ralston '53 graduated from BW in 1953 and was inducted into the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1996.

Ralston lettered three times in football and twice in wrestling during is college years. He was captain of the football team and an All-Big Four Tackle in 1952. In 1951, Ralston won third place in the Northeast AAU of Ohio heavyweight wrestling competition. In 1952, he was captain and outstanding lineman in football.

Ralston has been a teacher and coach for 30 years, along the way earning a master's in education from the University of Akron. He began his career in 1953 at Marion High School where he was assistant football coach, head baseball coach and track aide. In 1957, he became head football coach at Cleveland East High School where he was named to the East All Star Coaching staff in 1960. He moved to John Adams High School in 1962, and was named coach of the year by the Cleveland Plain Dealer in 1964. In 1967, Ralston moved to Cleveland West Tech High School where he was the head football coach until 1972. 

After retiring from coaching, he became the athletic director at Cleveland South High School. He retired in 1983. He was on the board of the Greater Cleveland Football Association and served as president in 1965.

Ralston resides in Cleveland with his wife Mary Louise. The couple has three children.
