Kevin Braaten '97 was a standout four-year letterman in basketball. He was selected to the Ohio Athletic Conference first-team three times and twice to the NCAA Division III All-American team. As a center, he led his squads to two consecutive NCAA National Tournament appearances in 1995 and 1996. His 1,867 career points rank fourth in school history and his 1,230 rebounds rank first.   

Kevin's talent in the classroom matched his talent on the court. He was a three-time first-team Academic All-OAC pick, a two-time first-team CoSIDA/GTE Academic All-District IV, and an Academic All-American in 1997. He was a member of several academic honoraries and won the OAC's Clyde Lamb Award.
 
A history and political science major, Kevin went on to teach and coach basketball for the Berea City School District.
