Robert C. Walters '64 graduated from B-W in 1964 and was inducted into the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1980.

During the 1960-1961 season, 6'1" sophomore Bob Walters set three B-W school records, including two that still stand today. He scored a single-game record 47 points and made 21 field goals in a 110-83 victory against Saint Vincent (Pa.) and scored a single-season record 527 points. In the Saint Vincent game, Walters made 21 of 34 field goals and five of six free throws.

Walters was a first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference player as a junior and senior and led the OAC In scoring as a senior. He led the Yellow Jackets in scoring for three seasons and at one time held the OAC career scoring record with 1,844 points. Walters currently stands sixth all-tiume in school history. For many years, Walters was regarded as B-W's "Mr. Basketball".

Following graduatiuon from B-W In 1964, Walters returned to Ashtabula, Ohio and his alma mater Ashtabula High School to coach both basketball and tennis. He recently completed his 50th year of coaching tennis in the Ashtabula City Schools District in the spring of 2014. As a high school basketball and tennis coach, Walters has won conference, sectional and district tournaments, been named the conference coach-of-the-year many times and has long been regarded as one of the best coaches in each sport.

As a high school athlete, Walters was both an All-Northeastern Conference and All-Ashtabula County standout in basketball and at one time held the single-game and single-season scoring marks.

Walters has four grown children and still resides in Ashtabula.
