PEGGY FORTUNE-YETMAN '91 is a 1991 graduate of the University and a 2001 inductee into the Baldwin Wallace University Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame. Simply, Peggy is one of just three ever Baldwin Wallace student-athletes to ever be a three-time CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-American.

Peggy is one of the best distance runners in the sports of cross country and track and field to ever compete at BW. She also was an outstanding diver in swimming. The Elyria High School graduate and native of North Ridgeville, Ohio earned 16 varsity letters as a Yellow Jacket. Peggy was an NCAA Division III All-American in the 10,000 meter run and still owns the BW school record of 36:58.74 which was set in 1990. She also owned the BW indoor 3000-meter run mark of 10:11.5 until it was broken by Kelly Brennan '20 in the winter of 2019.

Peggy's athletics accomplishments were remarkable, and equally remarkable was were her academic accomplishments. She maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average. She was a member of the Dean's List every quarter and was a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Dayton C. Miller honor societies.

Following graduation, Peggy received her Master's in Education degree from Cleveland State University and a Master's of Physical Training from Northern Arizona University. In addition, Peggy, who was an outstanding gymnast as a youngster, has competed numerous times in the Ironman and World triathlons in Hawaii. Once, she finished fourth in the World Triathlon in Kuilua-Kona Hawaii. The Triathlon consists of 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking and 26.2 miles of running.

Peggy also is a member of the Elyria Sports Hall of Fame. Her father, Bob Fortune '62, at one time was both the head coach and the diving coach at Baldwin Wallace.
