Baldis and Swisher Named OAC Co-Pitchers of the Week

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Senior left-handed pitcher Nik Baldis (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) and sophomore right-handed pitcher Kade Swisher (Berea/Berea-Midpark) were named Ohio Athletic Conference co-pitchers of the week for the first time in their career.

Baldis earns the honor after pitching his second complete game of the season. Against Heidelberg, Baldis went the distance for a shutout allowing just five hits and a walk while striking out nine in the 11-0 victory.

On the season, Baldis has appeared in nine games and leads the team with seven starts. He has pitched 41.1 innings with a 3.27 earned run average for an 5-1 record. He has allowed 15 runs, 40 hits and limited opponents to a .255 batting average. He has struck out 36 batters while only walking eight. 

In his career, Baldis has appeared in 34 games making 15 starts. He has posted an 8-2 record with two complete games and pitcher 95.1 innings for a 3.21 earned run average. He has allowed 34 runs on 97 hits with 28 hits and struck out 86 batters.

Swisher earns his first OAC pitcher of the week honor after posting a complete game shutout victory in his first career start. In going the distance, he allowed six hits and two walks while striking out seven batters in the 3-0 win over Otterbein.

On the season, Swisher has appeared in five games and made one start with one complete game. He has pitched 17.1 innings allowing four runs on 14 hits with three walks and 11 strikeouts. He has a 2.08 earned run average and held opponents to a .203 batting average.

For his career, Swisher has appeared in nine games and made one start with one complete game. He has pitched in 22 innings allowing 10 runs on 21 hits for a 4.09 earned run average. He has posted a record of 2-0 and made one save. Swisher has walked six batters and struck out 15.

The Yellow Jackets return to the diamond on Wednesday, April 26th for a road non-conference against Wittenberg University at the Carleton Davidson Stadium with first pitch slated for 6:00 p.m.
