Castillo Named OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the Second Time this Season

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference first baseman Alexis Castillo (Sunrise, Fla./The Sagemont School) of the No. 4 nationally-ranked Baldwin Wallace University baseball team has been named the OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week for the second time this season and second time in his career.

Castillo earns the honor after leading BW at the plate with a .750 batting average, 2.000 slugging percentage and a .800 on-base percentage. He went 6-for-8 at the plate with three home runs and double while scoring six runs and adding six runs batted in (RBI). The highlight of the week came on Sunday against Case Western Reserve University when Castillo  went 4-for-5 at the plate with two home runs with four RBIs and four runs scored.

On the season, he is hitting .484 with a .750 slugging percentage and a .542 on-base percentage. In 64 at-bats, Castillo has collected 31 hits with five doubles and four home runs. He has scored 14 runs while knocking in 16 RBIs. Castillo also has walked seven times.

In his career at BW, Castillo has appeared in 55 games while hitting .413 with a .620 slugging percentage and a .469 on-base percentage. He has secured 95 hits with 18 doubles and 10 home runs.  Castillo has 52 runs scored and 62 RBIs.

The Yellow Jackets return to the field again on Wednesday, March 22nd for a non-conference game against Allegheny (Pa.) College on the Fisher Field at 4:00 p.m.
