Women's Indoor Track and Field Placed Third at Mrs. G Invitational

Angola, IN -  The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team came in third at the Mrs. G Invitational hosted by Trine University in Keith E. Busse Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center. 

BW placed third out of 10 participating teams with 86 points. 

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:21.55
  • Sophomore Ellie Burns (Louisville,Ky. / Assumption) finished second in the 5000-meter run a time of 21:16.38
  • Sophomore Jensen Wolfe (Somerset / Sheridan) placed second in the 3000-meter run in a time of 11:44.70
  • Freshmen Katie Plecko (Rootstown) placed sixth in the one-mile run in a time of 5:33.89
  • Sophomore Kenni Voytek (Valley View / Cuyahoga Heights) finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 10.22 seconds and ninth in the 400-meter run in a time of 1:07.21
  • Freshmen Olivia Bradley (Hilliard / Hilliard Davidson) placed 11th in the 200-meter run in a time of 28.39 seconds

Field events highlighted:

  • Senior Elizabeth Schultz (North Olmsted) placed second in weight throw with a distance of 47' 7¼"
  • Senior All-OAC Abby Rodriguez finished third in shot put with a mark of 37' 2½"
  • Sophomore Grace Beil (Boardman) placed sixth in long jump with a distance of 15' 1¼"
  • Sophomore Abby Lorincz (Avon) finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 32' 11"

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x400 meter relay squad of Murphy, Plecko, sophomore Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) and freshmen Morgan Aloi (Sylvania / Sylvania Northview) won in a time of 4:13.03

BW will partake in its home meet on Saturday, February 10 for the Mid-February at 4:00 p.m. in the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.
