Murphy Garners Second Career OAC Indoor Runner of the Week Accolade

WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) has been named the OAC Indoor Track and Field Runner of the Week for the second time in her illustrious career.

Murphy earns her second weekly honor after winning two events to help lead BW to a fourth-place finish at the Ed Finnegan Greater Cleveland Colleges Invitational hosted by Case Western Reserve.

She won the 800-meter run in a BW record setting time of 2:09.65 and the 3000-meter run in a time of 11:02.63.

This season, Murphy ranks second nationally in the 800-meter with her record setting time.

For her indoor career, Murphy is the OAC indoor record holder in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.92 and the 2022 Co-Julie Zajac Indoor Distance Runner of the Year.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday and Saturday, February 24 and 25 when they host the 2023 OAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center.  Friday's action is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. and Saturday's action is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.  Please visit the OAC Indoor Track and Field Championships website at https://bit.ly/3IDhdMc
