Murphy Breaks Facility and School Record; Women's Outdoor Track and Field Host NCAA "Last Chance" Meet

BEREA, Ohio. - Junior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) claims two records as the Baldwin Women's Outdoor Track and Field hosted NCAA "Last Chance" meet, the Harrison Dillard Twilight inside George Finnie Stadium.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included: 

  • Murphy broke the year-old facility record time of 2:09.88 and the four-year-old school record time of 2:09.71 in the 800-meter run with her time of 2:09.03. She placed third in the 1500-meter run in a time of 4:28.83
  • Sophomore All-OAC runner Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) finished eighth in the 400-meter run in a time of 57.10 seconds
  • Freshman Charlotte Jones (Brecksville / Brecksville-Broadview Height) placed seventh in the 3000-meter steeplechase in a time of 12:40.36
  • Sophomore Jensen Wolfe (Somerset / Sheridan) placed 15th in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 19:29.16

Field events highlighted:

  • Senior All-OAC thrower Brooke Buckhannon (Collins / Western Reserve) placed sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 176' 6" 

 The Yellow Jackets will travel to Allliance on Wedneday, May 17 for a NCAA "Last Chance" meet, Mount Union Last Chance inside Kehres Stadium.
