Women's Indoor Track and Field Host Second Home Meet, the Mid-February Meet

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team host the second home meet of the season, the Mid-February Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center. The meet was unscored. 

Junior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) competed at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational inside BU Track & Tennis Center. She competed in the one-mile run amongst other NCAA Division I, II and III runners. Murphy placed 165th with a time of 5:03.49.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights of the Mid-February Meet included:

  • Sophomore Jaelyn Jaquay (Cherry Valley, N.Y. / Springfield Central) won the 5,000-meter run in a time of 19:48.11
  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner Cassie Kolonchuk (Canal Winchester) won the one-mile run in a time of 5:26.50
  • Freshman Morgan Aloi (Sylvania / Sylvania Northview) won the 400-meter run in a time of 1:03.13
  • Sophomore Kenni Voytek (Valley View / Cuyahoga Heights) placed fourth in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 9.49 seconds
  • Sophomore Maura Devine (Baden, Pa. / Ambridge Area) finished fifth in the 500-meter run in a time of 1:28.57
  • Freshmen Julia Hurd (Avon Lake) placed second in the 55-meter dash in a time of 7.76 seconds
  • Sophomore Molly Skinner (Dayton / National Trail) finished second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:36.93
  • Freshmen Katie Plecko (Rootstown) won the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:10.67 

Field events highlighted:

  • Senior Elizabeth Schultz (North Olmsted) won weight throw with a distance of 50' 4½"
  • Senior All-OAC Abby Rodriguez placed second in shot put with a mark of 36' 6¼"
  • Voytek finished sixth in high jump with a mark of 4' 7¾"
  • Sophomore Abby Lorincz (Avon) finished second in long jump with a distance of 15' 6¼" and third in triple jump with a mark of 31' 6"

On the relay side:

  •  The 4x400 relay squad of Plecko, sophomore Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman), Aloi, and Kolonchuk won in a time of 4:24.58
  • The 4x200 relay team of Hurd, freshmen Olivia Bradley (Hilliard / Hilliard Davidson), Aloi, and Collier won in a time of 1:55.22 

BW returns to the track on Friday, February 17 when it travels to Cleveland to compete in the Ed Finnegan Greater Cleveland Colleges Invitational, hosted by Case Western Reserve in the Veale Center Fieldhouse at 4:00 p.m.
