Complete USTFCCCA Division III Regional Awards

NEW ORLEANS – Baldwin Wallace University senior indoor All-American sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) and senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) swept the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Great Lakes Region Athlete of the Year awards.

Leverette won the Great Lakes Men's Track Athlete of the Year award while Dysert was named Men's Field Athlete of the Year, both receiving the award for the first time in their careers.

Leverette owns the top NCAA Division III times in the 100- and 200-meter dashes this season. The senior turned in those top national times of 10.38 seconds and 20.89 seconds, respectively, which also broke the school records in those events. This season, Leverette has been honored once as the OAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week, twice as the USTFCCCA Division III Men's National Athlete of the Week and twice as a USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region performer. He also won the 100-meter titles at both the All-Ohio and OAC Outdoor Championships.

Dysert also recorded the top Division III mark in the hammer throw this season, where he won the event in seven straight meets and only finished as the runner-up once. He broke the school record in back-to-back meets, hitting the eventual NCAA-leading mark of 210 feet, 8 inches, which puts him 10th all-time in DIII history. Dysert was named OAC Field Athlete of the Year after totaling 16 points for the Yellow Jackets at the meet, including the hammer throw title. Three times, he was named OAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week and he also earned USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region honors in the hammer and discus throw.

Both Dysert and Leverette will continue their season at the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted Thursday through Saturday, May 23-25, at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
