Complete USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Two Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field student-athletes have received United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Great Lakes Region honors.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams.

Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) earns his third career All-Great Lakes Region honor in the weight throw while junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) was named an All-Region selection in the shot put for the second consecutive year.

In his final indoor campaign, Dysert won the weight throw event at five separate meets and successfully defended his title at the 2019 OAC Indoor Championships. The senior also won the weight throw at the All-Ohio Championships when he hit a school-record mark of 63 feet, 9 inches, ensuring a return to the 2019 NCAA Championships. Dysert was also named OAC Field Athlete of the Week two separate times this season.

Achladis narrowly missed a repeat All-OAC finish when he placed fourth at the OAC Championships with a mark of 50'5.5". His season-best toss of 50'6.75" came in the opening Dave Lehman Invitational meet. In addition, Achladis posted a career-best weight throw mark of 51'11" at the Dr. William Taraschke Team Challenge.

Dysert will continue his season by competing in the weight throw at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Massachusetts, on March 8.
