AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Both the Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's indoor track and field teams have been picked to finish fifth in the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The BW women finished fifth of 10 teams in the voting with 46 points. Otterbein University took the top billing with 79 points and seven first-place votes. Only three points separated the next two spots as the University of Mount Union came in second with 70 points and two first-place votes while crosstown rival John Carroll University was tabbed third with 67 points and one first-place vote. Ohio Northern University was chosen fourth with 57 points with the Yellow Jackets rounding out the top five. 

On the men's side, BW also finished fifth of 10 teams with 48 points. Defending OAC Indoor and Outdoor champion Mount Union came out on top with 80 points and eight first-place votes. John Carroll came in second with 70 points and two first-place votes. Ohio Northern and Otterbein were narrowly separated in third and fourth with 62 and 59 points, respectively. The Yellow Jackets rounded out the top five again.

Head coach Jordan Hill, who is in her first season at the helm in Berea, returns 23 letterwinners for the women and 20 for the men from last year's indoor season, including a total of 10 All-OAC performers and one national qualifier. The women finished fifth while the men placed seventh at the 2018 OAC Indoor Championships. 

BW begins the 2019 indoor season on Saturday, Jan. 19, when the Yellow Jackets compete in the Dave Lehman Open, hosted by Otterbein University inside the Clements Recreation Center.
