NEW ORLEANS – Baldwin Wallace University senior indoor All-American sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) has been named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Men's National Athlete of the Week.

Leverette's honor marks the first time in program history that a Yellow Jacket has won a National Athlete of the Week award during the outdoor season.

Leading the Yellow Jackets to a fifth-place finish at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships, Leverette captured a pair of All-Ohio titles in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. After posting the third-fastest time of 10.79 seconds in the 100 preliminaries, he then won the title in a career-best tying 10.55 seconds, which also tied his previous top time in Division III. Leverette then followed it up with an All-Ohio meet-record and career-best time 21.07 seconds in the 200, which is currently the fastest time in the country.

For his career in the outdoor season, Leverette is a two-time All-Ohio performer, a two-time All-OAC performer and a three-time USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region honoree.

BW will host its first outdoor meet on Saturday, April 20, for the 50th Sparky Adams Invitational, beginning at 10:30 a.m. inside George Finnie Stadium.
