DELAWARE, Ohio – For the second time in as many weeks, Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) broke the school hammer throw record at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on the George Gauthier Track.

BW finished fifth of 20 teams with 56 points. Otterbein University won the All-Ohio team championship with 140.5 points.

The top three individual athletes in each event earn All-Ohio honors while the members of the top three relay teams also receive the accolades.

Dysert captured the All-Ohio hammer throw title with a career-best, All-Ohio meet-record and school-record mark of 210 feet, 8 inches. The senior broke his previous school record, which he set last week, by over 5 feet and bested the All-Ohio runner-up by almost 22 feet. Dysert's mark tops the nation in 2019 and ranks him 10th in the history of NCAA Division III. Additionally, he hit a career-best tosses of 156'1" and 47'6.5" to finish second in the discus throw and eighth in the shot put, respectively. 

Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) missed out on an All-Ohio accolade by 1 foot as he placed fourth in the discus with a season-best throw of 154'0", which is tied for 23rd nationally. Achladis also tossed 49'5" to finish fifth in the shot put while senior Academic All-OAC thrower Milton Woods (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) took sixth in the same event with a career-best mark of 47'9.75". Freshman thrower Matthew Staley (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) wrapped up the field events with an eighth-place finish in the javelin throw with a career best of 136'7".

On the track, senior indoor All-American sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) won a pair of All-Ohio titles. After posting the third-fastest time of 10.79 seconds in the 100-meter dash preliminaries, the senior then won the finals in a career-best tying 10.55 seconds, which also ties his previous time at the top of NCAA Division III. Leverette followed it up with an All-Ohio meet-record and career-best time of 21.07 seconds to win the 200-meter dash, which is the fastest time in the country at the time of the meet. Sophomore distance runner Spencer Roberts (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca West) also posted a career-best time of 9:43.61 to place fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

BW will host its first outdoor meet on Saturday, April 20, for the 50th Sparky Adams Invitational, beginning at 10:30 a.m. inside George Finnie Stadium.
