Leverette Named OAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University senior indoor All-American sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week.

In just his first meet of the 2019 season, Leverette swept both his events at the April Fools Invitational to earn his third career weekly accolade and his first during an outdoor season. The senior posted a career-best and meet-record 10.72 seconds in the 100-meter dash preliminaries and then followed it up with another career-best time of 10.55 seconds to win the finals. Leverette was the only runner to break 11 seconds at the meet and his time currently tops all of NCAA Division III. He also won the 200-meter dash in a meet-record time of 21.96 seconds, which sits 21st in the country.

For his career in the outdoor season, Leverette is a two-time All-Ohio performer, a two-time All-OAC performer and a three-time United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Great Lakes Region honoree.

BW returns to action on Saturday, April 6, when the Yellow Jackets compete in the John Homon Open, hosted by the University of Mount Union inside Mount Union Stadium.
