ALLIANCE, Ohio- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) broke a Baldwin Wallace University school record as the men's outdoor track and field teams took part in the John Homon Open at the University of Mount Union

Dysert won the hammer throw with a school-record and career-best toss of 205 feet, 1 inch and improved on the previous school record by almost six feet. The mark currently ranks second nationally at the time of the meet. Additionally, the senior placed third in the discus throw with a mark of 152'1".

On the track, senior indoor All-American sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) won the 200-meter dash with a career-best time of 21.23 seconds. The time currently ranks second nationally at the time of the meet.

The Yellow Jackets had the top three finishers in the 10,000-meter run. Senior distance runner Spencer Mahon (North Royalton) walked away in first place after crossing the finish line with a career-best time of 32:46.01 Junior distance runner Isaac Wilson (Tylersburg, Pa./North Clarion) was right behind in second place with a time of 33:50.38. Sophomore distance runner Andrew Krupp (Ottawa Hills) finished just nine seconds later with a time of 33:59.81, good for a third place finish.

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, sophomore distance runner Spencer Roberts (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca West) finished as the runner-up after posting a time of 9:55.19.

In relay action, the team of senior sprinter Brandon Cole (Vermilion), freshman distance runner Nate Matthews (Marietta), freshman distance runner David Prather (Hardin, Mont./Hardin) and freshman distance runner Joe Juda (Strongsville) finished fourth in the 4x400-meter event with a time of 3:31.15.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Saturday, April 13, when they compete in the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on the George Gauthier Track in Delaware, Ohio.
