Dysert Earns OAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week Honor

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Following his performance at the opening meet of the outdoor season, Baldwin Wallace University senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) has earned the OAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week honor.

Dysert swept all three events he competed in at the Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology Early Bird to earn his fourth career weekly accolade and his first during an outdoor season. The senior hit career-best marks of 197 feet, 8 inches and 46'11" to win the hammer throw and the shot put, respectively. Additionally, Dysert won the discus throw when he tossed 154'3". His hammer and discus marks both currently rank second in NCAA Division III while his shot put mark puts him 11th nationally.

For his career in the outdoor season, Dysert is the 2017 OAC Champion in the discus while also earning an All-OAC honor with a third-place finish in the hammer throw. He also garnered an United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Great Lakes Region accolade in the hammer throw in 2017.

Dysert and the rest of the Yellow Jackets will continue the outdoor season on Saturday, March 23, at the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational, hosted by Muskingum University on the Johnson Family Track.
