BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Director of Athletics Kris A. Diaz '78 has announced the hiring of Jordan Hill '09 as the new track and field head coach.

"I'm excited to take my career back to where it all started," Hill said. "My experiences at BW as a student-athlete and as a coach shaped me into who I am as a person as well as a coach. I'm honored to be named the new head coach of the BW track and field teams and I look forward to elevating the program back to its tradition. I want to thank Kris Diaz, Joe Eby and the entire BW community for the opportunity."

Hill returns for a second stint at her alma mater and her first at the helm after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. During her time there, the Emory women notched two separate top-10 finishes at an NCAA Division III Championship meet. Hill was also most recently named the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South/Southeast Region Women's Outdoor Assistant Coach of the Year.

"We are unbelievably excited to welcome Coach Hill back to Baldwin Wallace," Coordinator of Cross Country and Track and Field Joe Eby said. "She has done a fantastic job at each school she has worked for and we can't wait to see what she can bring to the table for our program."

Diaz added, "She was a great student-athlete when she participated here at BW and she did an excellent job in her role as an assistant coach. Getting her back with the wealth and knowledge she added since she left BW will be a great asset to our program and BW moving forward."

Hill primarily focused on sprints, hurdles, relays and jumps for the Eagles while also serving as the main recruiter for those event groups. Other responsibilities included coordinating travel logistics and assisting as the meet director for the Emory Invitational and Emory Classic, which brought in over 900 participants to each event the last two years.

Prior to her time at Emory, Hill served as an assistant coach at Allegheny (Pa.) College from August 2014 until September 2015, when she was promoted to interim head coach for both cross country and track and field. During her tenure as interim head coach, both cross country teams won the North Coast Athletic Conference championship while the track and field teams saw points scored in every event group at the conference championships.

Hill's first stop at BW was as an assistant coach from January 2013 to August 2014, where she oversaw the training and development of the sprints, hurdles and relays, including the 2014 NCAA Division III National Champion in the men's 100- and 200-meter dashes. Before returning to her alma mater, however, Hill was a graduate assistant coach at Bluffton University from August 2009 to May 2012.

Her various coaching accomplishments include mentoring 15 All-Americans, over 20 conference event champions, more than 50 All-Region athletes and two individual national champions. Hill also holds a USA Track & Field Level 1 Coaching Certification.

As a student-athlete at BW, Hill had an immensely successful career, earning several All-Ohio Athletic Conference and All-Ohio honors and contributing to three OAC team titles. During her senior season, she earned the Paul "Sparky" Adams Most Outstanding Female Athlete award as well as the BW Most Outstanding Sprinter Award.

Hill earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications from BW in 2009 and then went on to obtain a Master of Business Administration from Bluffton in 2012.
