WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) and senior indoor All-American sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) captured OAC titles as the Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field teams finished sixth at the two-day 2019 OAC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Otterbein University inside Memorial Stadium.

BW finished sixth of 10 teams with 47 points. The University of Mount Union won its ninth consecutive team title with a total of 197 points.

Following the conclusion of the meet, Dysert was named the Men's Field Athlete of the Year. 

Currently ranked No. 1 nationally in the event, Dysert won his first career hammer throw title with an OAC-meet record toss of 205 feet, 4 inches which bested the runner-up by almost 18 feet. Both junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC thrower Ted Achladis (Avon Lake/Elyria Catholic) and Dysert combined for five Yellow Jacket points in the shot put. Achladis notched a fifth-place finish with his longest throw of 49'7.25" while Dysert placed eighth with a mark of 46'10.25".

On the track, Leverette claimed his first career OAC crown, indoor or outdoor, by winning the 100-meter dash finals in a time of 10.81 seconds.

In relay action, the quad of senior Academic All-OAC sprinter Brandon Cole (Vermillion), freshman distance runner Nate Matthews (Marietta), freshman distance runner David Prather (Hardin, Mont.) and freshman distance runner Joe Juda (Strongsville) combined for an eighth-place finish in the 4x100-meter event in a time of 46.22 seconds.

BW will host the Harrison Dillard Twilight for its second outdoor meet on Friday, May 10, beginning at 12 p.m. inside George Finnie Stadium.
