AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – In the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams have been picked to finish sixth and fourth, respectively.

The BW women finished fourth of 10 teams in the voting with 55 points. Otterbein University took the top billing with 80 points and seven first-place votes. Only four points separated the Cardinals from second place as the University of Mount Union came in second with 76 points and three first-place votes while crosstown rival John Carroll University was tabbed third with 64 points. The Yellow Jackets were chosen fourth with 55 points with the defending outdoor champion Ohio Northern University rounding out the top five. 

On the men's side, BW finished sixth of 10 teams with 44 points. The three-time defending OAC champion Mount Union came out on top with 79 points and seven first-place votes. Otterbein came in second with 74 points and two first-place votes. John Carroll landed in third with 66 points and one first-place vote followed by Ohio Northern in fourth with 57 points. Heidelberg University rounded out the top five in the polling.

Head coach Jordan Hill, who is in her first full season at the helm in Berea, returns 23 letterwinners for the women and 20 for the men from last year, including a total of 10 All-OAC performers, two national qualifiers and one All-American from the outdoor season. The women finished fifth while the men placed sixth at the 2019 OAC Outdoor Championships. 

BW begins the outdoor season on Saturday, March 16, when the Yellow Jackets compete in the Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Early Bird, hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology inside the William Welch Complex.
